AdvaMed 2016: The MedTech Conference Comes to Minnesota’s Medical Alley

More than 2,500 medical technology professionals will descend on Minneapolis this fall as AdvaMed 2016: The MedTech Conference, the industry’s largest gathering in North America, comes to one of the country’s leading centers of medical innovation for the first time. The Medical Alley Association, trade organization representing the #1 health technology cluster in the world for innovation, will be the host partner for the tenth annual AdvaMed conference.

The conference will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center from October 17-19, and will bring together over 1,000 companies from across the country and around the world to collaborate in business development, capital formation, innovative technology showcasing, world-class educational opportunities and networking.

The conference will feature more than 30 educational panels, five plenary sessions and numerous business development activities, from networking events to presentations from emerging growth companies.
 
Highlighting Minneapolis’ role as a hub not only of medical technology but of the larger health care ecosystem, AdvaMed 2016 will kick off with a plenary session featuring an interactive discussion with local industry leaders Omar Ishrak, chairman and CEO of Medtronic, who also serves as chairman of AdvaMed 2016; Dr. John Noseworthy, president and CEO of the Mayo Clinic; and Richard Migliori, executive vice president, medical affairs and chief medical officer, UnitedHealth Group.
 
In addition, the conference exhibit hall will feature a special “Medical Alley” aisle, spotlighting some of the leading Minnesota-based medtech companies and suppliers.
